This position is responsible for monitoring process control factors that affect the execution of specifications and manufacturing procedures that affect the proper execution of product characteristics that are key to making product that meet our customer and company quality requirements. This data includes verifications of all Critical Quality and Critical Process Points plus formulation, injection, kitchen, stuffing, cutting, packaging, boxing and shipping of each product during the production process and acting to make immediate on-line decisions regarding the quality characteristics. This position ensures product is directed into the proper product codes based on specifications or into a re-conditioning process for final disposition. The number and type of product being packaged varies by plant.

/Responsibilities and tasks are written as follows:/
75% Quality Measurement SPC
Statistical Process Control inspections are completed as assigned. These include all aspects of the Manufacturing Specs measurements for packaging, stuffing, slicing, blending, grinding, macerators, skinning, smoking, linking and closing equipment functions.
Specific checks - die checks, closer start-up checks, vacuum checks, injector yields & function, injector and pickle/brine specification checks, grinder/emulsifier checks, smoke color, solution checks, cure times and temps.
Leaker inspections including causes on all products.
Ensure accurate product packaging and boxing for products on the production line.
Monitor and confirm that package product codes and dates are following established specifications.
Temperature monitoring on products, carcasses, and facilities.
Weight monitoring in compliance with Smithfield-Farmland & USDA guidelines.
Quality standards inspections as assigned on a schedule (at least once per hour).
Ensure action is taken quickly on the production line to remove poor quality products.
15% Sanitation & Food Safety Support
May be required to conduct pre-operational sanitation inspections. Duties may include Food Safety paperwork, GMP and Sanitation audits as directed and document corrective actions as necessary.
10% Quality Improvement
Monitor and retain non-conforming product. Communicate problems observed to management and follow-up to ensure issues are resolved. Occasional special projects will be assigned.

High school diploma or GED
Must be accurate, reliable and punctual. Must be solution and improvement oriented.
Must have a good understanding of mechanical function for maintaining manufacturing equipment control.
Ability to read and interpret documents and manuals for equipment safety, operation, maintenance and procedures.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to communicate effectively with the QA Manager or Supervisor.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts using general mathematic principles to complete required assignments.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Knowledge of Spreadsheet, Word Processing and email software for communication.

Office and plant setting. The plant environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold and heat (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals.
Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud when in the production area.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
